the arboretum bar

also called the diorama bar, for its two ship models under glass.  the larger depicts the moment of lifting the harvested ice onto our ship, while the smaller captures its arrival into the new york harbor.

through the many mullioned windows at left is the arboretum in the central courtyard, containing mature trees and plants all native to the area by 1650.
